County Fair

Yesterday we went to the County Fair.  It was a few counties over, but hey, we travel for a good time.

Peanut loved the tractors and climbed right up.  Maybe he will be riding one of these some day.  The high school seniors in our town drive their tractors to school on the last day for fun.  Planning ahead Peanut?

It was so nice and cool that I even got to wear my new jeans yesterday....and today. Smile.

We are right behind the stands here where the crowd is cheering on the barrel riders.  Peanut loves to clap, usually for himself, but I was happy to see him cheering on the riders.
 REALLY excited here:
We had so much fun.  We saw a giraffe, cows, and pigs to name a few.  Had a great gyro for lunch, and even got to watch the demolition cars arrive for the derby that night.  It was a little late for us, but maybe next year. I told Best I think Peanut will like it, but secretly I dying to see it!
Think I'll be giving him the right of way, always! Have a great week friends and family!

Coming Home

Leaving Texas is always bittersweet.  I just dread having to say goodbye to my family, not knowing when we will see each other next.  Right now is an especially hard time, when Peanut is growing so fast and changing so much.
Peanut really enjoyed Grandma Sharon's tupperware bowls and wore many as hats.

Looking through a "telescope" with Grandpa Chuck.

Billiards in the parlor was fun.

That is why we go. We go and enjoy each other and make memories that last us through the times when we are apart.  We go and when it's time to leave we say goodbye and start dreaming and planning for the next time we can be together.

We had a great flight home.  Again Peanut was happy reading and snacking.  Thanks for the new books Grandma and Grandpa!  The couple seated behind us had fun getting to know Peanut. They were on their way to visit their grandchildren and were so excited.  Reminded me of Mom and Dad when they picked us up from the airport.
Best picked us up from the airport and had a cold Diet Coke waiting for me.  I appreciate those little thoughtful things he does more than he knows.  The biggest surprise was for Peanut however.  Best said he got such a kick out of watching the video of Peanut's first train ride that he couldn't resist...and I'm glad he didn't.
Peanut is now a conductor!
He likes to help the train along..although as you will see below we have had many derailments...glad its not a passenger train.
The best thing of all is watching him and Best on the floor playing with it together, but that is their special time and I did not want to interrupt with the camera.  I love watching them have fun together.  It is good to be home. Smile.
