Merry Christmas!

Just want to send our love to those who we aren't able to be with today.  We miss and love you all.  Right now this little Santa is cuddled up with his Daddy watching a Christmas movie and drinking cocoa...but I thought you'd like to see a few pictures of him in the snow:

Merry Christmas Friends and Family!

Gingerbread Baby

Peanut loves to read and one of his favorite books this year is "The Gingerbread Baby".  I like it because I have memories of reading it to my students this time of year when I was teaching.  Of course sharing it with my own child makes it even sweeter (pardon the pun)!  It is a cute little story of a boy that is impatient while baking his gingerbread man and opens the oven too early. Not quite a "man" yet, out pops the gingerbread baby!  He races around the town terrorizing the villagers until the boy gets the bright idea of baking a gingerbread house to lure him into.

A good read before building a gingerbread house of our own!
Little hands were sneaking the décor as soon as they were opened!
Some building and lots of chewing going on.  Smile
Harder than it looks...
Peanut enjoyed decorating in addition to eating...

Looking good guys!

A beautiful finished product!  Have a happy holiday friends and family!

Fun in the Snow!

My in-laws left early this year to make it to Georgia in time to celebrate Christmas with Best's sister and her family there.  And although we will miss them bunches, we know they will have a great time there.  We didn't let them get away without a visit from Santa though...
Gammie got a picture book filled with pictures of one of her favorite things...Peanut!  and a few bags of chocolate bridge mix for the road trip.

Papa got a new box of golf balls and a new coffee mug with Peanut's picture on it!  By the time Peanut leaves for college Papa is going to have a whole cabinet of these...we may have to start making plates too when the new baby comes!
Gammie and Papa gave Peanut packages with his name on them to take home, but he got to unwrap one early.  A little hockey player ornament that he loves!  So perfect for him.
That same weekend we decided that we'd better hit the slopes...We considered just letting Best pull him through the yard, but I thought that would be too hard on Best's back so I figured we'd go to the big hill and let gravity do some of the work.  Uh...didn't think about the pulling up part.

But we had a great time and although it was 4 degrees out Peanut got several great slides in!

Just like last year he wasn't a bit scared and the minute he came to a stop said"I want to do it again!"
He looks a bit stuffed in doesn't he?  This will be the last picture in this sled anyhow because yesterday when I got home from the grocery store the boys had been playing outside and Peanut told me "Daddy broke the sled".  Not sure how that happened but maybe Santa needs to bring Daddy a sled too!  Smile

Tis the Season

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas around here...We have officially adopted the Elf on the Shelf tradition and "Jack" has been sneaking around our house causing mischeif and earning squeals of delight from Peanut. Each morning he races around the house saying "I can't find Jack! I can't find Jack!" until he spots him. But I'm sure as much fun as this is, he would tell you that his favorite part of the day is when he gets the trest Jack has delivered from the North Pole. Jack leaves a bit of chocolate in Peanut's advent tree each day and boy does that one tiny piece of chocolate get him excited!
Miller family favorite breakfast: Banana pancakes
Best doing the hard work...
Peanut had so much fun playing with the ornaments... the little diet coke can you see here is his favorite!
Peanut hanging the first ornament on the tree...which just happens to be the first ornament he ever received...a little red car from Mommy.
As soon as he saw my camera he ran to get his.  I may have some help as family photographer!

This first pic is Peanut's first Christmas and the second is this year.  My, that boy has grown!
He told me he needed one last look before bedtime.  Smile.

Hope you are enjoying the sights and sounds of the holiday season.
Have a great week friends and family!

Send in the Clowns

One night at dinner Best surprised Peanut and I with news that we were taking a family trip to the circus the following weekend.  Peanut and I were both very surprised and excited and spent the next week counting down to the big day.
Here is Peanut in the lobby with his program.  We have loved this program with the glossy pictures and coloring pages and have spent much time reminiscing about our trip...
Peanut and I in our seats.  It was cold that day but thankfully we got to park inside.
We had great seats and got there early to enjoy the events on the floor before the show.  Here is Peanut getting an up close look at the elephants before the show.  He declined our offer to ride on one with him...smile.

Circus treat: Cotton Candy!  I thought Peanut would go crazy for it, but he had a bite or two and then was much more interested in the show.
These elephants were amazing.  They played trumpets, balanced, and danced.  One of my favorite parts.
Peanut thought the clowns were so funny.  He steered clear of them when they were signing autographs and taking pictures in the lobby afterwards.  Even now when we talk about them he will say, "Those clowns are so funny...but we don't touch them."
My boys enjoying the show.  We got 3 seats but Peanut sat in one of our laps almost the whole time.
The canon was so cool but I wasn't quick enough to get a shot of the man being shot out of it!
Peanut told us that the motorcycles were his favorite part.  At one point there were 4 of them going around in a steel cage and here is one on a tightrope with girls suspended on trapezes underneath!
It was so much fun and after it ended we decided to head over to Macy's 8th floor Christmas display.  It was cold that day, but thankfully downtown has a great skywalk and we didn't have to go outside at all to get there!
Peanut got a kick out of the singing trees.
Checking out the reindeer barn...
A Peanut size reindeer in the gift shop!

Thanks to Best for surprising us and getting our holiday season off to a great start!
Have a great week friends and family and hope you're enjoying this most wonderful time of the year too.
