January:  This was the first picture I took of my "baby bump".  Looks like I might have needed to clean my mirror as well...

May: Best and I on my first Mother's Day... He's in there....IT COUNTS!

June: Ninth to be exact...The best day of my life.  Nuff said.
July: Grandpa flies up to visit. And boy are his arms tired... ha ha couldn't resist!

August: Peanut's first look at a chicken at the county fair.
September: First picnic at the park!

October: Remembering that Best took off work early to surprise us with a trip to the pumpkin patch.

Here Comes Santa Clause

What a fun holiday! We were so happy that our family from the South decided to high tail it up here and spoil us with their love for a week. We were hoping to share a white Christmas with them, but Mother Nature had other plans. So we settled for lots of fun, food, games, movies, presents, shopping, and laughter that filled the air.

Best Buds

Christmas Eve at Gammie and Pappa's was such a treat with the wonderful soups, salad, bread, and desserts that Gammie lovingly prepared for us.

After dinner Best, the Sisters, and I played the "Age Game" with Pappa while Peanut and Gammie played their own special game.

All worn out...it must be 8pm!  Sugarplums are dancing in his head...

We enjoyed the Christmas lights on the way home as Peanut snoozed in the backseat.  Got him tucked in and then headed to bed. The next morning I woke up early, got the coffee going and orange sweet rolls in the oven...

Then Best and I tiptoed into Peanut's room to see if he was awake and ....

Grinning from ear to ear!  He actually wakes up like this every morning! Ready to start the wild rompus!

So I set up the video camera, and the still camera on the tripod,

and we snapped this pic of the whole family to mark the beginning of Peanut's first Christmas morning!

A little unwrapping revealed...

A Sesame Street book and CD from Grandpa!

A noodle bug and Elefun from Santa

A very special Christmas book that Grandma hand sewed

You know you are getting alot of gifts when you have to lie down to finish opening them all....

After our unwrapping and breakfast at home, we headed over to Gammie and Pappa's for round two... Best and I might have had two breakfasts that day, but who's counting?  ;-)

Pappa playing Santa

The bows are very interesting....

Even Furry Pants was in the spirit

I couldn't ask for more than the present I am holding... although Best and my loving family spoil me rotten!

Afternoon brought our traditional family ice skate... Best makes this possible for us all and it is such a treat!  Thank you darling.

Watching the big kids... and Mom

more family fun

It's only the beginning my dear Peanut... Merry Christmas

Sticky Situation

Being a little is boy is a sticky situation and Peanut is no exception.  But cleaning up is just as fun, especially when Momma gets out the camera and lets Peanut soak and play til he's all pruned...
Bird's eye view

Good reading, and so tasty too...Thanks Grandpa Chuck!
Any orange sauce for this duck?
Testing out the acoustics... This one's for you Grandma Sharon!  Can you hear me in Texas?

It's beginning to look alot..

Having fun making a few decorations and some Christmas goodies!  These pomanders made the house smell so yummy and lasted for quite awhile.  Sad that I had to get rid of them today, but they were showing signs of age, I'll spare you the details.  Best's comment was "Nothing says Christmas like rotten oranges".  Ha!  He keeps me laughing and I love it.  So, not to be without a holiday centerpiece, I did a little trimming (on the back) of our tree...and viola!
Already had the vase from our wedding centerpieces and the "snow" is rock salt. ;-)

Who knew salt made such good fake snow? Now if we only could get some of the real stuff outside!  Hard to make snow ice cream without it!

Best loved these and I bet Peanut will too someday...
Speaking of Peanut....
He is giving his two teeth a workout!
That's all for now, gonna snuggle up with furry pants and wait for Best to get home.  I love to hear about his day.  He works so hard for our family and we are so appreciative and proud of him!

Just Shoot Me

...with my new camera that is! Best was home today so we ventured to a nearby park to get a few shots of Peanut and me.   Hmmmn... No snow and brown grass.  Best assured me there will soon be plenty of opportunity for my much anticipated "snow shoot".  And he is usually right about these things, usually.  We had fun though and got a couple of good ones.  Of course when it's your baby they're all good. Smile
Doesn't it look like he's floating?

"Might be time for a bigger hat Mom"

And just when I find this cool old fence to take picture with...

...WE ARE DONE FOLKS

Peanut just letting us know that the photo shoot was now finished. Home to relax and recharge our batteries for the week ahead.  Hard to believe it's almost Christmas.
