Saturday at the races

A couple of Saturdays ago Best had a great idea.  He said that we should take Peanut to the horse track.  It caught me off guard at first, but then I realized that this is a perfect place for some family fun.  It's certainly not expensive if you don't gamble...and they have a great playground and live entertainment not to mention the horses and races!  The day we went they were even giving away free t-shirts.

Best and Peanut watching the horses and trainers come by on their way to the track.

Next time we go I want to be sure and find out where I can get close to this guy..."the horn guy" I call him.

They may not look like they were going fast at this point but they were!

Our little jockey.  Ok, so funny story: Yesterday at the county fair he was calling the kids on the pony ride "jockeys"...and he was saying it from his stroller because he was not ready to ride himself.  "I just watch" he said.  So maybe not a jockey...smile.
Have a great week friends and family.

Hockey and Sons 2013

I know it's been awhile since I've posted...it's just been busy busy busy, but good busy.  We are officially moved in with Gammie and Papa and it is just great.  We feel right at home and appreciate the sacrifices they are making for us.  Best was away at hockey camp this week and we were really missing him.  It's hard to have Daddy away for four days and over a holiday at that, but we make do and got to visit him yesterday.
This was taken right outside the ice rink.  Gustavis Adolpus has a beautiful campus and each time we go I always wonder to myself if we may not be visiting Peanut there someday?
He could watch for hours...just fascinated.  Our friend Luke was pelting some pucks right at the glass where Peanut is standing and he didn't flinch.  I think he knows his future coaches are watching. Smile.
He always wants to be involved and help so he was quite honored when Best gave him the task of picking up a stray puck and returning it to the ice.
Perhaps the highlight of the trip was getting to sit on the Zamboni.  This is Peanut's dream machine.

Hoping my boys will make the poster someday...If you're reading this Troy, hint hint.
Fun on the football field.  I offered to take off Peanuts jersey to make him a little cooler, but he said "No, I keep it on."  He loves to look like a real hockey player.
 Tackling Daddy
 Playing with Mommy
 Watching practice and asking questions...

This is such a neat experience for fathers and sons and Im glad we are a part of it.  I am so excited for Peanut to be a camper in years to come.
Have a great week friends and family!
