Schools Out!

Let's just start this post with some before and after pics...
Here is Sister in September...just 6 months and crawling, cooing, and riding in her carrier.
And here she is 8 months later!  Walking, saying words like circle, shoe, cracker, going down the slide by herself and riding in a big girl car seat!
And here is our sweet and funny little Peanut on his first day in September.
And now... an inch and a half taller, 6 lbs heavier, lots more vocabulary and a continued love of learning.

Sister's class sings a little song about an airplane that we love so we made airplane favors to take to her friends on the last day of school.

And Brother decided to give something green and growing to his teachers.  He enjoyed picking out the plants and potting them himself!

These were such fitting gifts not only because he has grown so much this year, but because the women who teach and nurture him each week are so beautiful like these flowers.
We are enjoying the summer already with trips to the zoos, museums, parks, and playdates.
The relationship between these two continues to flourish and Best and I agree that our favorite times are when we catch them sharing a joke together.  We usually have no idea what is so funny but they can just crack each other up!  Favorite past times include: rolling on the floor together, stacking and crashing blocks, putting all our shoes in the laundry baskets, hiding under and behind furniture, driving cozy coupe cars on the deck and looking at books together. (and apparently picking clumps of grass...smile)

I can't believe after this summer Peanut will be heading off to Pre-school 3 days a week...gasp!  We are making the most of these days and this weather and I am so thankful everyday I get to spend with these kids.  Have a great week friends and family!

May Happenings

It's finally warm for good.  I can feel confident stating that now.  And of course I mean warm until the next long winter...We had a warm patch that was so nice and then some chilly weather returned.   After you bask in the sun for a few days it's harder to accept that cold air let me tell you!  But I'm really feeling summer is here now and it's so exciting to have Sister walking for this one!  Here we are enjoying Farm Babies at the Zoo.  We went with some friends and had so much fun.
Peanut and a best buddy.  A best buddy for Peanut that comes with the bonus of two cool older brothers and a little sister friend for our Sissy!  And my favorite is the wonderful lady that is their Mama.  Smile.
Our dentist visits, much like haircuts have become increasingly easier and Peanut is proud to show his bravery now.  He is a good brusher and flosser and the doc said he has a "nice clean mouth."
My favorite discovery this Spring so far is the "new to us" park nick named Chutes and Ladders.  What you see here is only about half of what they have to climb, swing, and bounce on.  Including a smaller area for Sister, outdoor water fountain, big picnic tables, hiking trails, an indoor facility with great restrooms, air conditioned eating area and snack bar, and free admission and it's pretty near a perfect place for us!
The picture below was taken on our second trip back just 2 days after our first.  It was so great we just had to show Best!  And it was on that day that Sister decided she would just start going down the slide all by herself.  Over and over she went...took a few tumbles too but just kept going.  She's a trooper and will not be discouraged.
We were sad when Best was taken away for work for a week.  We kept busy though and he was so sweet to leave a note for Peanut to read each day keeping him up to date on his travels.  Peanut was hoping Daddy would see a Bison, but when he did not we just decided to go check up on the ones living right downtown!  I couldn't believe it when the Zookeeper talk that day was at their cage.  Peanut listened and asked a question afterwards.  He is so curious about all animals.
It was a bit chillier that day but they were nice and snuggly in the stroller snacking on Veggie Straws from Gammie.  Thanks Gam, We love you!
The last day that Best was gone we had a birthday party to attend.  It was great to celebrate with friends and gave us some distraction as we anxiously awaited Dad's return.
I hate that this picture is so blurry but I had to include it because this is how we spent our time when Dad got home.  Just taking turns snuggling with him.  We are so happy to have him home.
Other than that we have just been hanging out at home relaxing.  Below are common scenes for each of the children.  Peanut has developed a real love of Lincoln Logs and we have had fun building together.  He and Best even made a 3 car garage!
I know I could prevent this if I wanted to and sometimes I do, but come on... look how happy she is!
Let loose, make a mess and have some fun!  Enjoy the holiday weeked friends and family!
