Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween friends and family!  I can't believe we are to holiday season already.  It seems like just yesterday this little caterpillar "hatched" and now she is 7 months old and has a mind of her own!

She is starting to crawl and we are beginning to do a bit of "Bree proofing".

Here is sister's Monday Baby Class.  I love these kiddos and their sweet Mamas.  We enjoy playing with our babies together, learning from each other, and celebrating milestones.  Great memory making!

Peanut was pretty sure he didn't want to wear a costume this year, but had a change of heart when a friend loaned us a monkey costume.  He is really a monkey/ape aficionado so it was quite fitting (pardon the pun). Smile.
The Preschool Plus class.
In other news, Peanut made his second trip to the dentist and was a champ!  The dentist commented how clean his mouth was and how great his teeth looked.  We added flossing to our bedtime routine and he is doing great at it!

We got to pet a snake at the library this month too.  That was pretty cool.

Sister has moved to the top of the shopping cart and is loving it.

Um...wasn't this just last week?  It's going toooooooooo fast!!!!!!!!!!!!

But I smile when I look at the grown up boy he's become.
Playing is serious business and Peanut has informed me he is teaching Sister how to play.
A few from the patch...Sister will pose, but there is no stopping Peanut...

Update on Halloween night: At the 11th hour Peanut did decide he wanted to join in the trick or treat fun.  He decided on a different costume though, he wanted to be like Dad.  I don't blame him. They both look pretty cute!
Happy Halloween friends and family!

From Texas with Love

This Fall is great for everyone here because of the beautiful weather and changing scenery, but it is extra special to us because it is the time of year that we get to have Grandma and Grandpa come visit!  It's just the perfect season for them to experience a bit of our cooler temps and fall foliage without having to bundle up for every trip outside.  And we love to get outside with them.  My parents are nature lovers and Peanut has learned so much from them.  It's so fun to see them share this love of our beautiful world.  Here is Mom and Peanut making a fall leaf picture for the fridge.

We had so much fun during their visit.  I know Mom and Dad feel the same excitement leading up to our visits that our family does.  We talk about what we will do and count the days on the calendar.  What a fun surprise this trip that Grandpa Chuck had planned a magic show for us!  Peanut got to stay up late to watch and he was soon parroting the phrase "Pick a card, any card".  Dad has been doing magic a long time and is really good.  Watching him brought back fun memories of him entertaining friends and family growing up.  Smile.

Peanut the Magician!
Dad smiling watching Peanut mimic a trick.
Sister was only 2 months the last time Mom and Dad were here so it was like meeting for the first time all over again.  Although she took to them right away...maybe she recognized the talking heads from Skype, ha ha

We got this airport game when we were garage sale-ing the last time Mom and Dad were here and it is still the favorite game.  Mom and Dad got to play it MANY times...they are patient folks...
We spent a lot of the trip just playing at home and in the neighborhood but we did venture out a couple of times.  The Harvest Orchard is an annual trip and we had fun munching our way through the orchard and listening to Cactus Willie in the Apple House.

Here is Best and Peanut launching apples at targets.  Peanut still talks about it.

Another outing was to Barten's Pumpkins.  It's a great little family run pumpkin patch just about 2 miles from town.

Peanut was insistent on doing all the pumpkin lifting himself.

A little windy, but happy girls!

This place has too many cute places and props for pictures!  Just kidding, there can never be too many.

Best got us tickets to the Wild hockey game and we were so excited to take Grandpa Chuck and Peanut to their first NHL game together!  We didn't stay the whole time as it was a late game time for Peanut but we had a blast.  Peanut is usually in bed by 7 pm so we were cracking up on the way home when he looked out the window and asked, "Excuse me Mom, but where is the sun?"
And here is the annual Jonny Burger trip.  It has quickly become a family favorite.  What can we say?  We love beef and milkshakes!
And since I started with one of Mom and Peanut I will end with one of Dad and Sister.  So much fun to watch the bonds of love grow.  I am so thankful my children are blessed with two sets of Grandparents that love them so much.
Have a great week friends and family!
