Museum for Me

I've posted about our first day of school previously, but here's what we did on the first day of school for the public schools in our area.  We went to the Children's Museum and it was a fabulous day to go!  It was much quieter than usual and the kids that were there were Peanut's age or younger.  That makes it a bit slower and quieter than when the "big kids" are barreling through...

It was a beautiful day and we spent quite a bit of time on the upper deck playing in the sand and on this piano.

I love the little Kidtropolis town they have there.  They have about 8 little activities from a vet's office to a news station, but Peanut's favorite is mailman and grocer.  He doesn't have much interest in branching out despite my efforts to get him to work in the café...

Sister slept the whole time Peanut was checking groceries and delivering mail which was great because when she woke up we went to the tiny tot area and she was ready to play!
I love this little sofa in the above picture.  I wish we had one at home, too cute!
Boat racing is another favorite activity.
But here is the real reason for the trip...

The limited time Thomas the Train exhibit that was there!  Peanut is a big fan of this talking train and we just had to see him in person!  Or at least large cardboard cut outs and massive train set ups...

It was fun to watch all the kids play together and share the tracks quite nicely they did!
Here is Peanut fixing Percy's wheels.
He is so cute and determined in his play.  He goes from gleeful exuberance to quiet concentration in minutes.  I love this museum and I learn something each time we go as well.  I am so glad that we can learn and play together.  Have a great week friends and family!
