Children's Museum

After a thrilling ride on the Hermann Express, we decided to head over to the Children's Museum of Houston.  I had been as a child and teacher and was so excited to add the role of Mommy to the list!  We started out in the Tot Spot where Peanut found lots of new toys and plenty of new friends.  The car was a big hit.

I'm sure there is some fancy science theory being proved in this next photo, but well, Peanut just thought it looked cool.
It was a little hot on the outdoor track:
So we headed inside for sandwiches...
and cold banana pudding for dessert. (Thanks for lunch Grandma and Grandpa!)
OK, this may top my homemade water table...
It took him just a little bit to figure out this next machine...

But he did!  Push button C and the fuzz balls float!  Good job Peanut!
There was an exhibit built to replicate a fishing town and Peanut found a fish and carried it around
Putting it in and out of baskets and other things he found,

until another little patron caught it in her fishing net!  He wasn't even mad at her.  Good boy.  Smile.

Next was the Kidtropolis town.  It is sponsored by local businesses and includes a grocery store, cafe, post office, tv station, police station and other mock businesses.  Here is Peanut shopping.  He prefers to drive his basket on the floor and make car sounds.

He finally chose some orange juice and then threw it on the floor when he saw how long the check out line was.  I know how ya feel kid...

He also visited the vet's office.  He had fun opening and closing the cages and pulling the animals out.
Here he is with Grandpa Chuck behind the wheel of a classic car.
Block sorting was fun too.  (He was much too busy to turn around and smile for a picture.)
This last picture is of us in the Power Play exhibit.  It is all about energy and has lots of hands on exhibits.  Really cool stuff like build and launch your own rocket.  We are going to come back and try them all someday, but we have a little more growing to do and we want Daddy there too.

We are having so much fun, but we miss Best so much.  I love you and can't wait to see you Saturday dear.  We send our love to the rest of our family back home too and we will see you soon.
